Building Pc On Carpet

I mean i wouldn t recommend doing that but honestly all you really have to do is touch. Instead of building a pc directly on your carpet you should build it on a desk and ensure you re not wearing extremely fuzzy socks or clothing that makes you shock things when you touch them. When building my pc do i keep the power into the wall outlet but with the psu turned of or do i take it out of the power completely putting the pc on the floor while using an esd wristrap. The floor being carpet i will sit on.

Obviously it s bad if you have fans sucking. Even the first computer i got to post i build sitting on my wool carpet in my pajamas. Plug the psu into a power socket to ground the pc. What clothes would allow me to go down a slide and build up the least amount of static possible.

Heck i built my first computers on carpet.
